Description
Designed in 1950, the Wall Sofa exemplifies Finn Juhl’s inspiration from the free art movement of his era, as well as his boundary-crossing ambition to defy gravity and create a sense of movement. Its uniquely asymmetrical, excessively upholstered backrest almost floats like a cloud by René Magritte above the also levitating seat carried by an almost invisible frame. The sofa is upholstered by hand in Denmark in textile. The painted frame in a powder coated steel tube is mounted to the wall, hence the name of the sofa.
Fabric consumption for the short sofa is 5.6m for the back, and 2.15m for the seat, and the long sofa consumes 9m for the back, and 4m for the seat.
