19th Century Burmese Jeweled Buddha

Description

A magnificent Buddha statue found in Myanmar. It is a hand-carved from a single teak wooden log and is adorned with ornamental rope and inlaid glass mosaic pieces. While originally painted the statue has been exposed to the elements and has acquired an oxidized bleached patina.
